Mike Currie is a professional hunter and nature conservationist, has been passionate about wildlife and the outdoors since childhood. With an Honours Degree in Nature Conservation, he has guided hunts across South Africa and various African countries since 2000, sharing his adventurous spirit and love for nature with clients.
BACKGROUND
I was fortunate to be raised in the countryside, and have thus been exposed to wildlife and hunting my whole life. From a very young age, I was seldom seen outdoors without a rifle or shotgun in my hands.
After school I furthered my studies in Nature Conservation, and completed my Hons. Degree in Nature Conservation. During this time I was also able to build up a lot of experience working for the South African National Parks Board as well as some of the larger Private Game Reserves in South Africa.
It was only after doing all of this that I was able to follow my passion and find my way into the hunting industry. I obtained my Professional Hunters license in 2000, and have held unrestricted licenses and hunted in 6 of South Africa’s provinces. Besides for South Africa, I have hunted professionally and assisted in guiding my clients in the Central African Republic, Botswana, Cameroon, Mozambique Namibia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, as well as Zambia.
My adventurous spirit will always have me planning the next adventure… Be that Bongo in the Congo, Lord Derby Eland in the Central African Savannas, Buffalo in the long grass, or a Vaal Rhebok on the top of the mountains, I invite you to experience these adventures with me.

I am very fortunate to be able to live my passion, and that what is what I like to try and convey to my clients and friends, to love our wildlife, enjoy every experience the outdoors has to offer, and to fall asleep with a smile on your face when you remember these experiences over and over again.
WHY WE ARE UNIQUE
Operating in some of Africa’s more difficult to work in countries, has constantly reminded me of how dedicated some folks are in their quest to hunt Africa. It is not always easy, and things do not always go according to plan, but my dedication to show my clients a good time and experience Africa for what it is, will always see me with a smile on my face (and hopefully yours too!!)
WINGSHOOTING
For those of you that are passionate about wingshooting, we certainly share a common infatuation!! Working behind staunch pointing dogs has always been a passion of mine, and something I never get tired of seeing. The nerve wrecking wait over a decoyed duck dam -waiting for that action packed conclusion to a fantastic day, or the chaos of a massive flock of guinea fowl been driven over a line of well placed guns, is something I love, and I wish for you all to experience. Africa is a gem of a wingshooting destination, just waiting for you to experience what it has to offer.
